Yikes only 27 days before launch!
Yesterday we posted that we would go live with open ARISalign in 30 days. Two days later we go live in only 27 days. What happened? Did the earth pass through a time warp? No, but we did fail to take into account that February only has 28 days. Even with all of the automated tools that we have in place, it still comes down to a person doing something. We have all heard that we live in the “information age” and that we have more technological tools available to us than we have ever had. We get to where we need to be via a GPS, we fill out electronic forms, and we shop on web sites. While these technologies may make us more efficient, it is a double edged sword….we interact less with actual humans.
In the business world you often hear people referred to as “assets”, or “resources”, instead of people. I actually heard one customer refer to a “human interaction step” in a BPM process as a “carbon step”. I think that this is why social interaction sites like ARISalign are so popular; they help reunite people and allow them to understand how what they do is valuable to an overall process. It gives context to what people are working on. It allows them to be part of a team. Collaboration systems are nothing new, but the new social interaction systems have hit a nerve with people because the allow people to interact in a way that feels natural to them.
What does this have to do with only 27 days left? Well…nothing really except to say that “WE ARE LAUNCHING IN 27 DAYS!” So much to do…
